Race Report: 77MM – Peter Collins Trophy

The historics veteran and prolific Goodwood victor led from start to finish, with Steve Brooks never far away during the early running. Simon Hadfield was close behind in his Aston Martin DB3S, only for Martin Stretton to jump the Aston aboard Stefan Ziegler’s Jaguar shortly before half distance. ‘Danger Mouse’ rapidly moved his way into contention as he chased down the leader, only for several cars to spin off at Lavant which brought out the safety car. Racing resumed with a few minutes to spare, only for a crash at the chicane on the penultimate lap to end play. The race was red-flagged, with Harper being declared the winner ahead of Stretton and Brooks.
