Pole man Graham Higlett dominated the Sheene Trophy race for Formula 750 motorcycles aboard Paul Bowling’s Triumph T150.
Having bagged pole position by 1.2 seconds, Higlett ran away and hid in the race, while once fancied runners Dean Stimpson and TT winner James Hillier retired during the early running. By three-quarter distance of the 20 minute race, Higlett led fellow Rob North Triumph rider Brett Randall by 20.4 seconds, before backing off by seven seconds a lap. Sadly, Randall dropped it on the final lap after his motorcycle ran out of gears, Goodwood newcomer Andy Hornby assuming second place on his RPS Triumph Trident with Seely-Weslake rider Ian Steltner being promoted to third from eleventh on the grid.
