The Graham Hill Trophy is one of the most interesting races at the Members’ Meeting. Those familiar with the Revival will recognise a smattering of RAC TT favourites – AC Cobras and Jaguar E-types – battling it out against some more unconventional sports GTs.
Joining them were Lotus Elan 26Rs, Ford Mustang GT350s, TVR Griffiths and much more. Would you expect it to be a walkover for the more well-heeled Cobras and E-types? Probably, but you must always expect the unexpected at Goodwood. Caught up battling for a good chunk of the race, Michael Gans and Emanuele Pirro in their Cobras left the gate open for Griffith 400 jockey Mike Jordan to slip his TVR into the lead, eventually thrashing out a full 15 second lead over the pursuing Cobras in the end. A win for the underdogs and an awesome little car!
