Video: 75MM Scott Brown Trophy highlights
A grid full of Listers provided the sights and sounds for the Scott Brown Trophy. It was named after the man who pioneered motorsport for disabled drivers and, despite having limited use of two legs and one arm, was highly competitive until a crash caused his untimely death.
Many of the cars on the grid were Knobblys from the late 1950s, but a couple of Costin bodied cars and even a coupé added diversity to the grid. The newest car on the grid is from 1963.
The front row was occupied by Martin Stretton, and Chris Ward – along with Phil Keen who went on to win, taking advantage of a mistake (possibly a missed gear) by Stretton to sneak by into the lead. He never lost the lead after that.
