Jake Hill will be celebrating his successful weekend at Donington this week, but seeing him do his good work out on track reminded us of what a spectacular drive he put in at Goodwood just a couple of weeks ago. Here at the 79th Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport, Jake’s performance in Ric Wood’s Gitanes-liveried Capri in the Gerry Marshall Trophy was something to behold.
Happily, we had a camera on board with the BTCC star so you can all come along for the ride. Up front is Sam Hancock in the #33 Capri, bobbing it through the chicane and going for a pass around the outside at Madgwick.
Unsuccessful though he was, the pressure stays on, as both Hill and Hancock blast their way past a Rover SD1 back marker. Jake puts the Capri right on its sidewalls, right on the limit through St. Mary’s – a fool’s errand for even the most competent drivers – he has it locked though, with Hancock not getting away.
Around for another lap and the Capris come across more back markers, before Hill makes his move once again through Madgwick on the inside. A fantastic battle between two Goodwood stars.
