Video: Chris Ward gets seriously sideways in his SD1

On this rare moist Members’ Meeting morning we saw the fantastic Gerry Marshall Trophy Group 1 touring cars taking to the circuit to get in some practice for this evening’s hour-long race into the dusk.

Of course posting quick times in the wet is an entirely different ball game. In a chase between the Patrick Motorport Rover SD1 and a Mini 1275 GT, in these conditions, the Rover’s weight is definitely a handicap. Some creative driving is required, with the Chris Ward steering out the side window, using that epic V8 power to keep it pointing toward the inside. Epic car control!
