After 17 laps and with just a minute and a half to go, the battle at the front of the Goodwood's Surtees Trophy between Rob Hall’s McLaren Chevrolet M1A and Olly Bryant’s Lola-Chevrolet T70 Spyder was fiercer than ever. Could Bryant sneak past?
An intense race at the 79th Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport saw the pair separated by just a couple of tenths in the closing stages. Their monstrous V8 brutes were growling, giving both plenty of oversteer to manage, balancing grip with a deep desire to get the power down and pull an advantage.
The challenge? Backmarkers, keeping the duo locked in combat to the final corners. Who came out on top? Could Hall maintain his lead or would Bryant sneak through for the win?
