It might seem crazy that we’re already looking forward to the 80th Goodwood Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport, but how can we not when we know there will be more racing like this?
The Goodwood Motor Circuit lends itself very well to the eclectic grid of touring cars we’ve come to love in the Gerry Marshall Trophy, with diminutive Minis mixing it with far more powerful beasts. Here we have Mini master Nick Swift getting his elbows out and competing with a group of cars he really has no right to. But the lightweight agility of the Mini makes it a force to be reckoned with through the corners, undoing all of the power advantage of the Camaro and Capri up ahead.
He looks to be so far behind as they flash through Fordwater, but that gap closes up oh so quickly through St. Mary’s and into Lavant. Watching the far smaller car skitter in and out of the wheel tracks of these far larger cars is a sight akin to an excitable puppy getting under your feet. We can’t wait to see more of this when the Motor Circuit opens for the new season in April.
