Any AC Cobra is a handful, that's just the nature of squeezing a 7.0-litre engine into a car that started life as a small British sportscar. But some belie their sledgehammer power with progressive oversteer and and rhythm.
But this one, contesting by James Cottingham and Harvey Stanley in the Graham Hill Trophy looked to be fighting its driver the whole way around the Goodwood Motor Circuit. There's not a moment to relax as it pitches and bucks its way around the track, keeping its driver busy with steering corrections under braking, under power and more or less constantly. The hard work paid off with a qualifying time good enough for the third row of the grid.
