Can you believe it’s August already? The Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard is but a distant memory, with all eyes now on the fast-approaching 2019 Revival.
But before we wash our hands of July, let’s take one last look back at the content that made GRR tick, from awesome hillclimb action to in depth Festival features.
This 1,150hp Kamaz Dakar truck was one of the coolest things on four wheels at the Festival this year, despite not yet having made it to the Dakar. I climbed inside the cab with its pilot, and five Dakar Rally champion, Eduard Nikolaev.
The engine from the 911 in a Porsche Cayman sounds pretty much perfect, wouldn’t you say? Granted, it doesn’t have the 911s turbochargers and isn’t quite as fast, but does that really matter? As Andrew Frankel explains, if ever there were a car in which how fast it goes means nothing relative to how it goes fast, this surely is it…
This is a must watch for any classic BMW fan. Join Jochen Neerpasch, Head of BMW Motorsport from 1972 to 1979, and M1 drivers Tiff Needell and Jochen Mass, as they discuss the incredible, albeit short-lived, M1 Procar championship.
It’s no surprise that, fresh from smashing the Nürburgring EV lap record, Volkswagen’s ID.R repeated the feat on the Goodwood hillclimb, crossing the line in just 39.9 seconds – a full 1.7 seconds faster Nick Heidfeld’s 1999 McLaren MP4/1 run.
After decades and decades of speculation, Chevrolet has finally built a mid-engined Corvette. Here’s everything you need to know about the new C8.
This epic compilation includes Hill action from Oliver Solberg in his Citroën DS 3 WRX, Lando Norris in the 7.8-litre M8D Can-Am McLaren, Daniel Ricciardo in a 2012 Renault F1 car and Duncan Pittaway in the fire-spitting Beast of Turin. Motoring doesn’t get any more exciting.
Sink your teeth into the story of Jackie Stewart’s near-perfect 1966 Indianapolis 500. For Jackie, it’s the one that got away…
One for the bikers among us. It has been 60 years since Honda’s debut TT entry, and the Japanese manufacturer has grown to dominate motorcycle racing. Why? Take a look at the exquisite machinery on display at the Festival and you may get an inkling…
The Festival was full of Formula 1 stars, from current drivers to retired legends. We sat down with up and coming Scuderia Toro Rosso driver Alex Albon to talk F1, touring cars, and what it means to be the first Thai driver since the 1950s…
We’ve been running a Mk8 Ford Fiesta ST for the last two months, and, as you may have learned, we absolutely love it. But the current ST wouldn’t be as good as it is were it not for Ford’s previous hot Fiestas, so team GRR took the ST to meet its forefathers…
It seemed only right to celebrate Sir Jackie’s motor racing accomplishments and recent 80th birthday with a special Goodwood moment…
