Gallery: The Ferrari SF1000 2020 Formula 1 car

Will the Ferrari SF1000 be the car that topples Mercedes from its position of Formula 1 dominance..? We've got some time to wait until the 2020 Formula 1 season kicks off in Melbourne and we actually find out, but Ferrari certainly hopes so. Plenty of Formula 1 fans hope so, too.

For the time being, all we can do is look at Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel in their new-ish race suits and pray that the Ferrari SF1000 isn't just fast but that the Ferrari team can get everything in its operation running smoothly for the start of the new season.

We're not too sure what happened to the Ferrari SF91 (the 2019 Ferrari Formula 1 car was called the Ferrari SF90, so, really, Ferrari has jumped 910 years worth of cars), but the SF1000 looks pretty darn tasty.

At the car's unveiling, team principal Mattia Binotto, Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel were joined by Ferrari Vice President Piero Ferrari and Ferrari's President, John Elkann, who closed the event with a few classically passionate words: “We are proud to represent Italy around the world,” he said. “Even though Ferrari has won 238 of the 991 Formula 1 races run to date, our thirst for victory is stronger than ever. In the coming season, we will continue to face very tough opposition, but that only serves to spur us on to do more and to do even better. What distinguishes us is the amazing collective effort of everyone in Ferrari’s Gestione Sportiva, both on and off the track. That is our strength”.
