Toyota is to bring a number of stunning rally, race and road cars to next weekend’s Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, including its new Supra GT4 concept racer and the TS050 LMP1 prototype fresh from its first-place finish at Le Mans.

Making its dynamic debut on the hillclimb will be the GR Supra GT4 Concept, driven by Toyota Gazoo driver Mike Conway. The concept was first seen at the 2019 Geneva motor show, where it was presented as an affordable proposition for grassroots motorsport and GT4 competition. It will be joined by the standard Toyota GR Supra, driven by chief engineer Tetsuya Tada, a year after a camouflaged model made its debut at the Festival.

Meanwhile, the 700bhp Toyota GR Supra Drift will be piloted by Nobuteru Taniguchi, one of Japan’s top drifting stars, in the Festival’s all-new dedicated drift and stunt space, The Arena presented by Forza Horizon 4: LEGO Speed Champions. Customised by HKS, the unique model features a GTIII-4R turbo system, Hipermax suspension, Endless Racing brakes and Yokohama Advan tyres and wheels. Suffice to say it will be very, very sideways almost all of the time.

Toyota’s static displays will be no less exciting, with this year’s Le Mans-winning TS050 Hybrid taking centre stage. In the race earlier this month, #8, driven by Sébastien Buemi, Kazuki Nakajima and Fernando Alonso followed sister car #7 for much of the race until a puncture drama ruled #7 out of contention, allowing the trio in #8 to take their second consecutive Le Mans win.

Equally successful are the 2019 Dakar rally winning Toyota Gazoo Racing South Africa Hilux and a replica of the Yaris WRC that has so far taken three victories in this year’s FIA World Rally Championship.

The GR Supra VLN Edition that made its debut at this year’s Nürburgring 24-hour race, driven by a crew that included Toyota Motor Corporation President Akio Toyoda, will feature, complete with bodywork damage from the gruelling race. The Toyota Gazoo-developed GR Supra, Yaris GRMN and the Corolla GR Sport will be present on the manufacturer’s stand.

Elsewhere at the Festival, a host of privately entered cars will represent Toyota’s rich history, including everything from the 1980s/1990s Celica world rally cars to the Toyota TF108 Formula One car from 2008.
