Vettel's supercars up for sale
It’s rare that cars once owned by F1 drivers are available for us mortals to buy, assuming we have the spare cash, but for those collectors of ex-F1 driver machinery, this could be your lucky day. Eight – yes eight – of four-time F1 Champion Sebastien Vettel’s cars are up for grabs.
The selection includes three Ferraris that he took delivery of during his time racing with the Scuderia. There’s a 2016 LaFerrari, which incidentally, is sold, a 2016 Ferrari F12tdf available for £750,000 and a Ferrari 458 Speciale, available for £350,000.
How do you know Seb is the first name on the V5s? Besides checking the V5s? Well, there’s a special custom Vettel insignia on the headrests. None have seen a massive amount of use under Vettel’s ownership, with the Laf covering just 300 miles in its life, the TdF just 738 and the Speciale only 1,905.
They’re not the only Ferraris of his up for grabs, though. Older models available from his collection include an Enzo, which is described as “the very finest example offered for sale anywhere” with no price given and an F50, which is sold.
Being German, it’d be wrong for him to not own some special machinery from the fatherland. Fittingly, the remaining cars available from this slice of his collection are two Mercedes and a BMW. Of the former, there’s an SL65 Black Series which was a gift from race organisers for winning the first Abu Dhabi F1 GP in 2009, priced at £275,000 and an SLS AMG, priced at £175,000. Finally, a real rarity, a BMW Z8 Roadster which he acquired in 2015 and had refurbished by BMW Classic, available for £175,000.
There’s no word yet on why Vettel is shaking up his collection, though it’s claimed it has nothing to do with his new employers Aston Martin. Bad blood with Ferrari perhaps? Who knows… Either way, if you fancy one of these, they’re available from British dealer Tom Hartley Jr.
