Sunday at the 72nd Members' Meeting was not just a day of racing action. It was the first ever full race day for Goodwood's revived Members' Meetings – and it was awesome.
We had the first two-driver Gerry Marshall Trophy packed with racing legends, a brilliant Tony Gaze Trophy for '50s sportscars featuring an awesome Ferrari v Jaguar v Aston v AC battle for victory and the stunning Salvadori Cup to finish the day, with Lister Knobblies and Lotus XIs fighting for glory in the late afternoon sun.
But that wasn't all, for 72MM started our tradition of out-of-period demonstrations for the kind of cars we don't expect to race at Goodwood. This year (2014) we were blessed with three of the most iconic eras of motorsport – Turbo F1 cars, low-drag Le Mans racers of all eras, and Group B rally cars. It was a fantastic day, and here are our favourite moments.
