A fast car being driven at speed around the Motor Circuit is not uncommon. Seeing a Tyrrell 011 F1 car on track, however, is very rare indeed.
As we don’t see single seaters steaming around the circuit on regular track days, this was an on event treat, the 011 just one of many Formula 1 cars being driven hard as part of the 74th Members’ Meeting Ground Effect F1 demonstration. This particular car has a special history, as it was driven by Michele Alboreto in period and was the car that took him to his maiden F1 win at the season-ending Caesar’s Palace Grand Prix.
Driven here by Andy Wolfe, the 2015 FIA Masters Historic F1 champion, the 011’s 3.0-litre V8 howls around the circuit, Wolfe flying through Fordwater without a lift.
