What is better than a video of a screaming, DFV-powered, F1 car being hurled around a race track? Well, how about a video of a screaming, DFV-powered, F1 car being hurled around the Nürburgring and up the Hill at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard?
That is exactly what this video contains. A video by, you probably guessed it, the absolute legend that is 19Bozzy92 (no, you spend too much time watching his videos).
The JS11/15 has a 3.0-litre DFV in the back, so you know this sounds awesome, as anything featuring the greatest F1 engine of all time is going to sound good, and wrapped in a Gitannes-sponsored Ligier body it looks fantastic too.
Plus, the JS11/15 was successful too, racing 29 times and winning five over two seasons – although at one point it was actually too good. Producing so much downforce that its chassis begun to flex.
But here, in 2020, we can see the car (chassis Js11/01) at the 2019 Festival and the Oldtimer GP at the Nürburgring, where it raced as part of the FIA Masters Historic F1 championship. It’s on display in both wet and dry, and looks and sounds, quite frankly, magnificent.
