Sir Stirling Moss's career was indelibly linked with Goodwood in a way that very few racing drivers are associated with a single track. Then just 'Stirling', he began his career racing tiny 500cc Formula 3 cars around the West Sussex countryside.
Moss's career saw incredible highs at Goodwood – racing a Ferrari 250 SWB to victory while listening to the commentary of his own race on the radio, clinching World Sports Car Championship glory for Aston Martin despite his car catching fire – and the lows of a career-ending crash. But his love for our small part of the motorsport world was an enduring facet of all Goodwood's revived events.
Here we have compiled a gallery of some of the best pictures of Stirling Moss at Goodwood that we could find, and it charts his career from the moment it began in that tiny F3 car, to the final appearances before he retired from public life.
He will be greatly missed by all at Goodwood.
