Welcome to Monza! For the uninitiated, this weekend is not the Formula 1 Grand Primero D’Italia – the global F1 circus is currently on the other side of the world. In fact the streamers and smoke of Charles Leclerc’s incredible victory the other weekend are all gone, the park of the Royal Villa of Monza has been returned to its common state, filled with dog walkers, littered with leaves escaping the trees at the early signs of autumn and bereft of most of the scars of an F1 weekend.
It’s not bereft of noise, though – if anything this weekend Monza is probably louder than at any point in the year. This weekend Peter Auto’s travelling history show of events has hit Italy for the Monza Historic, and GRR are here to bring you everything you need to know.
It’s a pretty magical place is Monza, there genuinely are people walking their dogs in the park as the cars go round. And not just in the park, there’s an old chap currently lapping the old banking on his bicycle, terrier in tow.
That all makes Monza a difficult place to describe with waxing lyrical for a thousand words, but I’ll save that for later in the weekend. For now know that we’ve got our usual array of galleries, features, videos and more coming up from what should be a brilliant weekend. So here’s a taste of what we’ve seen so far, soon we’ll have a wander around the packed paddocks (much more compact here than at Spa), and some track action. This is a good weekend.
