The 2024 Monaco Historic Grand Prix is well under way and as the racers were out in the city getting a feel for the Grand Prix circuit, cars were changing hands up at the Bonhams|Cars sale.
Leading the sale was the gorgeous 1965 Maserati A6G/2000 coupe. Wearing Allemano Coachwork, this wonderful example hails from early in Maserati’s grand tourer history.
A versatile machine, this A6G was a bespoke creation specified by its first owner, Richard “Dick” Cicurel, it’s believed this is the only rally-spec car of the series made.
Modifications include Marchal fog lamps, a competition differential, competition extended fuel tank, extra instruments, multi-band radio and even a map light for the navigator. At the time of sale, this was the most expensive Maserati road car ever made.
This weekend at the Bonhams|Cars sale, it crossed the block for a sturdy £801,000 including premium.
The rest of the top sellers included a Crown Edition Mercedes-McLaren SLR with just 72km on the odometer, a stunning 1958 Porsche 356A, an Aston Martin V12 Zagato and the first Toyota F1 car, the 2002 TF102.
