Anyone who has ever been within 50km of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit will not be surprised if we say the weather conditions were... changeable. The day started in mild drizzle, which gave way to a full-on Spa downpour before in the afternoon the sun came out.
That meant stunning conditions for those drivers in the aero-assisted Group C cars, and a low grip nightmare for those older cars that rely on friction alone to get by. But, historic racing drivers don't really care about the weather. They've brought these fantastic machines, from heritage touring cars to the LMP machines of the 2000s out to enjoy them, and so that's just what they spent the day doing.
