Does anything encapsulate the Friday feeling quite like a sportscar on a sunny circuit? Here at GRR, we think not.
While we are undeniably biased towards our home Goodwood Motor Circuit, there are a host of European arenas that we hold equally dear, and one is the setting for today’s Elevenses.
Courtesy of the prolific YouTuber 19Bozzy92, today we bring you the small but mighty Renault Sport R21 Turbo. The 310PS (228kW) front-wheel-drive challenger was Renault’s own entry for their one-make called Europa Cup, from 1989 to 1991, and was derived from the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged Renault 21. Of course, significant weight was lost to bring it down to 1,000kg, and the result was a bonafide weapon, which in the hands of Massimo Sigala took the 1989 and 1990 titles of this legendary competition.
Take five this morning and enjoy it in action around Imola Circuit during the 2018 and 2019 editions of the Historic Minardi Day.
