A favourite class of ours, which we always run at the Revival, is for 1.5-litre F1 cars of the early 1960s. This was the era of Hill, Clark, Surtees, McLaren, Gurney, Brabham, Rodriguez and co. As at the Revival often too, it was a familiar story in the ‘Graham Hill’ at the 2024 Monaco Historic.
Racing in Monaco like it was 1962 were these stunning, lithe machines, with the Lotus 25 of Andy Middlehurst and the Ferrari 1512 of Joe Colasacco effectively running the show and setting the pace. It was a race-long battle with Colasacco constantly gnashing at the heels of Middlehurst in the Classic Team Lotus-prepared 25 but as has often been the case, he couldn’t quite land a leading lunge.
