Race circuits come in all shapes and sizes, many have changed over time to the point they’re almost unrecognisable now compared to their original forms. The requirements of improved safety, increased spectator capacity and upgraded infrastructure have all taken their toll on some of the world’s most iconic historic circuits, many of which we no longer see at the highest levels of motorsport. There are some, even beyond that however, that we will never see again.
While the likes of our very own Goodwood Motor Circuit, Spa-Francorchamps, Imola and even the Nürburgring have to some extent survived the tests of time and social advancement, we’ve picked out seven other racing circuits that unfortunately fell by the wayside.
What we would give to see motor racing return to legendary circuits like Charade in France and the Riverside International Raceway.
