There’s something special about classic touring cars. Be it their brute power, wolf-in-sheep’s-clothing appearance or the closely-fought races in which they competed – we just can’t get enough. And this clip, captured during the Heritage Touring Cup at the recent Hungaroring Classic, is an absolute gem.
Piloted by one of German pair Franz Wunderlich and Peter Praller, the 1984 Wurth-Hartge BMW 635 CSi is locked in a duel with the 1981 Ford Escort RS Zakspeed of Martin Kuendig, flying around the Mogyoród track.
So which car wins? The 3.4-litre straight-six BMW or the 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ford?
