The GRR crew has, unfortunately, never visited Dijon-Prenois. All we have to go on to let us know what this circuit in the middle of Burgandy is like is a series of increasingly exciting videos from our friends at Peter Auto. Videos like… this one.
Here we join Christophe Van Riet, a regular in historic racing, and a regular on these pages, as you can see from this Elevenses back in December. That time he was muscling a V8 Cobra round Paul Ricard’s wide open flat landscape, this time he’s in the slightly less grunty surrounds of a Capri, on the much less fen-like hills of Dijon.
Just to add some more jeopardy, it’s raining. This instantly makes the video much better for us, but the in car experience for Christophe no doubt much less enjoyable. However, he goes about it with some rather stirring ease, seeking out grip around the outside of the circuit and then controlling the long, lazy slides that follow as he sticks the power on in the Capri.
If anything, it’s actually a shame this video is short enough to fit in as an Elevenses, because we’re pretty sure we could watch Chrisophe wheel the Capri around Dijon all day if we were allowed. But for now, we’ll just have to enjoy these two-and-a-half minutes of slidey heaven.
Welcome to Goodwood Elevenses, a mid-morning helping of motoring-related amusement to help break up your day. Watch the last video: Isle of Man flat‑out
