The Ford Mustang is a car we know how to enjoy. Just take a look at the action from this year’s Ken Miles Cup presented by LGT Wealth Management – a race dedicated only to the classic Mustang at the 81st Goodwood Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport.
The sight and sound of those 30 Ford Mustangs as they roared away from the start line was truly spectacular, but everything is a little bit better when it’s bathed in the sunshine of the south of France. That’s where this video will take you, behind the wheel of a 1965 Ford Mustang V8 Notchback as it wizzes around the Circuit Paul Ricard.
Footage comes from the midst of Les 2 Tours d’Horloge (or ‘twice round the clock’) – the only non-stop 24-hour race for historic cars. Apparently, these laps are from the closing stages of the race, and you can see the pressure the Mustang had endured; the shaky steering and the effort the driver is putting in to keep it all under control. Luckily for us, we can appreciate the rumble of the V8 engine, high-speed overtakes, and the glorious blue skies of the Riviera without the accompanying physical strains. So, press play and enjoy all the thrills this immersive view has to offer.
