It really isn't often that we get a new perspective on the Goodwood Motor Circuit; we do work there after all, but thanks to the ever-shrinking nature of camera technology, we do occasionally get treated to a view that makes us go 'wow'. This video, filmed at the 2019 Goodwood Revival is a case in point, because it has been cleverly edited together to show both the rider's eye and rear views during the Barry Sheen Memorial Trophy.
The two-wheeled centrepiece of the Revival is a two rider race and one which begins with a Le Mans style start. We don't quite catch that as the cameras are mounted on the bike rather than the rider but we do get to see Levi Day race away from the line on his Manx Norton. What follows are three absolutely flying laps of the Goodwood Motor Circuit during which Day battles it out with John McGuinness, Michael Dunlop, Peter Hickman, Steve Brogan and Jeremy McWilliams. It looks fast and furious but actually the Barry Sheene racers are amongst the tightest knit bunch at the Revival with rivalries never straying out of the friendly category. These six minutes are a sight to behold.
