When we got the invite to test drive the latest Bugatti it seemed like Christmas had come early. Quite literally, in fact, as it was just a few weeks before Santa was due to visit. On closer inspection, however, it became clear that this Bugatti was something a little different. No, we wouldn’t be doing 250mph, and no, we wouldn’t be heading to a sun-soaked circuit in Germany or France. Instead we’d be doing 40mph at a chilly test track near Oxford.
It was far from a short straw, though, for the Bugatti in question was the Baby II. Bugatti’s 110th birthday present to itself, it’s a battery-powered 75 per cent scale recreation of the Type 35, courtesy of The Little Car Company.
