Video: Bugatti Baby II Review

When we got the invite to test drive the latest Bugatti it seemed like Christmas had come early. Quite literally, in fact, as it was just a few weeks before Santa was due to visit. On closer inspection, however, it became clear that this Bugatti was something a little different. No, we wouldn’t be doing 250mph, and no, we wouldn’t be heading to a sun-soaked circuit in Germany or France. Instead we’d be doing 40mph at a chilly test track near Oxford.

It was far from a short straw, though, for the Bugatti in question was the Baby II. Bugatti’s 110th birthday present to itself, it’s a battery-powered 75 per cent scale recreation of the Type 35, courtesy of The Little Car Company. Built to Bugatti standards, with exquisite details everywhere, and with dynamics by the company’s esteemed test driver and two-time Le Mans winner Andy Wallace, we knew we had to take the Baby II for a spin…
