We love to meet with owners and drivers for a deeper dive on some of the cars that line up on Goodwood grids. Because every single car lining up on that start-finish straight tends to have something of a story behind it. This Ford Falcon Sprint is no exception.
The owner, Julian Balme, talks us through how he got hold of the car and its journey from being an Orange County-based roadgoing saloon, to a fully-prepared Goodwood-ready race car. Such are the struggles of getting a car like this ready for racing, even Chris Harris couldn’t get it into the top half of the grid for qualifying and couldn’t challenge for higher places in the race. This Falcon has been the world over with Balme, to Monterey, Spa, the Nürburgring, Monza and more. Owners and drivers having fun with their cars and putting on a good show is what we like to see.
You can expect to see more action like this at the 79th Members' Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport. Watch it live on GRR from 10:00 on Saturday by joining the GRRC community.
