In February this year, Caroline Grifnée, former DAMS Formula E and Formula Renault 3.5 team and sporting manager, sadly passed away. She had left the team in 2017, but didn’t stray far from racing, launching a company to run her own track days.
The Belgian was as equally successful on track as she was off, working her way up first through the little leagues, before competing in Renault’s Eurocup Megane Trophy in 2010. She continued to race alongside her management career, and in today’s Elevenses, we join her aboard a 1972 Ford Escort RS1600 for a furious onboard. Competing in the 2019 Dix Mille Tours de Castellet’s Heritage Touring Cup Series, she wrestles the RS through adverse conditions and a packed grid.
In just eight short minutes of racing, the talented racer climbs from 24th to sixth position, in a deft display of driving talent.
