You know, we cover an awful lot of different videos in this little segment of ours that we share every day but today’s we think really lives up to what they should all be about: escaping for just a moment, diving into your computer screen and living the dream… vicariously.
So yes, riding on board a Group C2 Tiga GT 286 at Le Mans Classic as it battles among Porsches, Nissans, Lolas, Jaguars and more with the rain slowly getting heavier is right on the money. This clip is a good 20 minutes long, too, so we see a few laps, a pit stop and proper changes in conditions. This car also exemplifies the whole patchwork quilt engineering vibe of Group C, using as it does a naturally-aspirated Buick V6. It properly sings and howls but it’s hardly pedigree-laden.
Once driver Jack Gabby gets out of the pits, he puts the hammer fully down for his final stint. Even so, a V12 Jaguar passes him onto the Mulsanne like the poor little Tiga is standing still. Just under 20 minutes of pure escapism. We love to see it.
