The V10 engine in the back of Dallara's early attempt at an LMP car has become a bit of an icon over the last year or so. Firstly it deafened us at the 77th Members' Meeting, screaming into the night at the Goodwood Motor Circuit as part of our incredible LMP demo. Then we met it again at Spa, screaming in the hands of James Cottingham before it again tried to deafen us at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard.
Now we meet another Dallara with a V10 Judd in the back, this time at Historic Sportscar Racing's Classic 24 at Daytona. This isn't the first Dallara LMP car we've met with HSR, but the previous model was the Chrysler-badged car, whcih carried a different engine around the concrete slabs of Sebring. This car is the real deal again though, and with the banking and giant grandstands of Daytona acting as something of a soundbox, its sounding perhaps even louder than ever.
So what did we do? Well we sought out the closest possible mount for a GoPro to the sonic exhausts of that mighty Judd. That turned out to be the wing and, as the cars raced in their qualifying battles, we set our camera off to record that incredible sound and bring to you.
