It’s Monday again, and we’re still in lockdown. The sky is grey, the lawn frosty, and quite frankly, we’d rather still be in bed. But thanks to today’s Elevenses, we’ve transported ourselves to a warmer place this morning – specifically the cockpit of Billy Johnson’s 911 Porsche RSR during the Daytona Classic 24 earlier this month.
Watch as he climbs behind the wheel of the Alegra Racing 911 RSR for the first time ever, and receives a baptism of fiery horsepower on the 3.57-mile International Speedway. Chasing down Carlos De Quesada in the Orange RSR, he shifts furiously through the gears, the car’s air-cooled flat-six singing a glorious tune.
Just a minute and a half into the video, Johnson sees his opportunity and seizes it, squeezing his 911 through a barely-there gap to pass De Quesada. His edge-of-the-seat driving is exactly what the doctor ordered this morning!
