As this article is published, the GRR team is at the Rennsport Reunion at Laguna Seca. So it seems like the perfect time to look back at some stunning Porsche action at the California circuit.
Here we ride onboard with Dave Hagan in is Porsche 910 as he races in the last Group 7 race of the weekend. This was a challenge for cars that were eligible for the Le Mans 24 Hours from 1952-1971. Hagan is quite clearly one of the fastest on track, but due to some issues in qualifying was starting from 15th on the grid. And thus begins a proper comeback drive.
Under the Californian sun, Hagan takes the flat-six-engined Porsche through the field in a display of fast but sensible driving, dispatching cars including TVR, Ford GT40 and more. All the time it's soundtracked by that stunning Porsche engine as we enjoy some awesome views of the Corkscrew and the rest of Laguna Seca’s sandy surrounds.
