We love watching old Porsche 911s out on track. They’re quick, make a lovely noise and are, above all, highly entertaining to watch. Further proof of this, if you needed it, is this brilliant onboard from Dijon last year.
We’re riding onboard with Andrew Smith as he skillfully balances his 911 around Dijon-Prenois, battling it out with the #99 car of Sandy Watson/Andrew Kirklandy for the lead of Peter Auto's 2.0-Litre Cup. Even without the duel it would make for a cracking video, as it’s immediately obvious the best way to get performance out of this old rear-engined Porsche is to let things move around a little. And sometimes a lot. That these two cars are so close together (there are a few moments where you’ll be convinced they’re about to touch) is an added bonus.
