Of all the circuits in the world to get into a track battle, Road Atlanta is very high up on our list. And, to be driving a Porsche 911 against a Chevron B8, would be a pretty decent situation to find ourselves in.
That’s what today’s Elevenses is about. We join George Balbach at Historic Sportscar Racing’s The Mitty as he races around the incredible gradient changes of Road America.
If you’ve never been, those gradient changes are properly steep at times, take the last and first corners, which dip sharply and climb quickly respectively. Then, in a classic rear-engined 911, the swooping esses, that dive down while forcing a car through multiple switchbacks, must be a true joy.
And then, to make it even better, you’re up against not just any Chevron B8. But one being driven by none-other than AC/DC front man Brian Johnson.
A good day indeed.
