Automotive escapism doesn’t come much better than watching rally cars old and new let loose in a manner entire unbefitting the roads they’re being driven on, which most of the time, are public. This is what elevenses is all about.
From 1990s Toyotas and Lancias, to screaming rear-drive Fords and Abarths, to howling Porsche 911s, modern Subarus, Skodas, Audis and more, these incredible cars get the definition of ‘sent’. The sideways antics and jumps, punctuated with tyre smoke, anti-lag, banging limiters and exhaust flames, comes courtesy of Mr M, who was at the Rally Legend event in San Marino earlier this year.
The entire history of rallying is represented, from its early RWD years, to the monstrous AWD monsters of Group B, the more sanitised Group A era, the beginning of the World Rally Car years and beyond. If you’re an aficionado of the motorsport that takes the road less travelled, this will be nirvana.
