We love a Ferrari F50 here at GRR, it’s a car that we don’t think gets enough love, hidden as it is so often in the shadow of the F40. It’s easy to forget that the F50 was far more exclusive than its predecessor, only 349 were ever built, and that naturally aspirated 4.7-litre V12 is an absolute pearl.
And here it is, in all its glory, getting absolutely hurled around one of the very best circuits in the world. Suzuka is fast, flowing, treacherous at times, and one of the biggest challenges on the Formula 1 calendar.
We’re riding on board here, and the view is absolutely spectacular. Looking over the shoulder of our extremely talented chauffeur, trying to imagine how it must feel to crank through that gorgeous manual gearbox and hear that engine howl right into his ear.
As if that wasn’t enough, there’s also a pedal cam, so we can watch that sweet, sweet heel and toe. This is pretty much perfection. It’s a good lap too.
