Video: Sidecar hillclimb racing looks terrifying

21st April 2021

What could be better than close up footage of furious four wheelers flying around a makeshift road circuit? Why, furious two, three and four wheelers combined, that’s what!

Back in 2014, for the 17th consecutive year, a host of high-powered machines descended on Villers-sous-Chalamont in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in eastern France.

Barriers made of haybales separate the enthusiastic audience from the rapid vehicles, which in this video include superbikes, supermotos, three-wheelers and even quadbikes.

The contestants perform wheelies, burnouts and skids up the hillclimb, chasing style as well as speed. Would you be brave enough to jump onto the back of a sidecar?
