For today’s mid-morning motorsport meditations, we’re taking you out of the office and into some pre-war street circuit racing. We do love a street circuit here at Goodwood. They’re the opposite to our wide open Motor Circuit but very nearly as intense, as this onboard with Goodwood race regular Hughie Walker proves.
It’s the Angouleme Circuit de Remparts, as Walker tries to find the limits during his first ever laps out on track. As is his typical style, he’s aggressively tucking the Martyr into the corners, with curbs to meet him rather than apexes. A boot full of power gets the rear swinging round, as he slides his way out on the exits. It’s proving reasonably fast in practice, as he makes his way past a fellow competitor with relative ease.
