Is there a more dramatic field of cars anywhere in the world than the one that lines up on the grid for the RAC TT Celebration at the Goodwood Revival? A mix of AC Cobras, Jaguar E-types and Chevrolet Corvettes is a simple way to guarantee fireworks on the famous 2.367-mile Motor Circuit.
It’s exciting enough for those of us merely watching on from the sidelines, but getting a glimpse of what it’s like from inside one of these cars puts the whole thing into an entirely new and quite mesmerising perspective. Heading into the first corner we’re already taking evasive action as an E-type spins in front of us, before the mighty V8 in the front of our Cobra tries its best to pitch us into the wall moments later. You could count on your fingers the number of seconds that steering wheel is straight over the course of a lap. Philip Kadoorie has got his work cut out to keep himself in the race, so to see him take the fight to the cars in front and pull off some truly spectacular moves in the process is barely comprehensible.
Cobras and Goodwood are a match made in heaven, and we can’t wait for more action like this when the Revival comes around in less than a months’ time.
