We’re firm fans of epic onboards here at GRR, and won’t hesitate to broadcast the very best in our daily Elevenses. But sometimes we feel like switching it up a little, and today we’ve a brilliant video from a lesser-filmed angle.
With a camera facing out over the tail of his 1963 XKE Jaguar, join racer Russell Gee for a backwards lap of Road Atlanta during the Historic Sportscar Mitty, as he is chased by the author of The Cobra in a Barn Tom Cotter in his Corvette Stingray roadster. At first, the angle is a little disconcerting, but once you get into the literal swing of it, you’ll see racing from a whole other light.
Watch as the pursuing cars move fore and aft in the wake of the classic Jag, occasionally reaching the shelter of its slipstream. What’s more, the location of the camera means the raspy exhaust scream is omnipresent throughout the clip.
Welcome to Goodwood Elevenses, a mid-morning helping of motoring-related amusement to help break up your day. Watch the last video: When you turn the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez into an oval
