What is the noisiest, most powerful race of the Goodwood Revival weekend? Clue, it’s not the RAC TT, or the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy.
Can’t guess? It’s the Whitsun Trophy, which has a mix of Can-Am cars and GT40s so grunty that Thor himself would have second thoughts about whether they could move his hammer. Just to prove that, here is a video filled with raw trackside content of said Whitsun Trophy. It’s a four-minute blast for the ears with some very basic editing thrown in, filmed pretty much entirely from Madgwick.
It’s not only a great demonstration of how powerful and noisy these big V8s are, but also of how much of a handful driving one is. Proof if ever needed that Can-Am cars and GT40 are definitely about the victory of grunt over friction. And, for reasons we can’t explain, for some reason the Whitsun Trophy in 2010 featured a couple of Ferrari sportscars too, so you can enjoy the beauty of a 250 LM for some reason thrown into the mix.
