If you saw any of the final race of the 2021 DTM season you’ll know that it was one of the most controversial moments in racing history, with absolutely no room for any kind of fair racing. But what if we told you it probably wasn’t even the craziest moment in DTM history?
We think that the final lap of the 2002 race at the Red Bull Ring (then called the A1 Ring) was in fact a little bit more crazy. First off four cars spun out together at the first corner – three of them so close and in unison they might as well have been a single, twelve-wheeled car.
Then a three-way battle between a pair of Mercedes C-Classes and an Audi TT broke out, battling hard for the lead for most of the lap. Finally, at the very end of the lap, all hell broke loose again.
Tell you what, we won’t spoil what happened, but you need to tell us what the craziest motorsport moment you’ve ever seen is in the comments.
