Few race series offer drivers as varied terrain, environments and weather conditions as the World Rally Championship, with rounds taking place across the world, through all seasons and at hugely varied altitudes. The result is an incredibly unpredictable, exciting series, with pilots boasting the swiss army knife of driving skills.

It can hard to put that variety in perspective – until now, that is. This brilliant video from fervent motorsport YouTuber Antti Kalhola takes us on a wild ride through not just the seasons, but the decades of the World Rally Championship. Watch as 1980’s challengers become modern machines through sweeping, snowy bends, before they plough on to sandy pistes and tarmac roads. Set to a beautiful, dramatic soundtrack, this is the ultimate homage to one of the world’s most exciting championships. It’s well worth five minutes of your morning.
