This may be the single most gloriously French thing you’ve ever seen. It is a mid-1990s regional rally, the fifth round of the 1995 French Rally Championship, and it is absolutely filled with magnificent French rally kit cars.
You only need to watch the intro to see what magnificent machines are coming up. This was the glory days of the French hot hatch, and in rally terms that translated into some incredible lower-level rally cars. You’ve got fully factory-liveried Renault Clios, the stunning Peugeot 306 Maxi, spitting flames and more.
Thrown into the mix are some more staples of the 1990s rally scene. Expect to see the Ford Escort Cosworth and Subaru Impreza in action on these French roads. You may not recognise many of the names in the driving seat, but this is worth ten minutes of your time.
