You’ve definitely seen videos of Rally Legend. Most of them involve flares or a very famous bit of industrial estate. But those videos bely the fact that the event is actually taken seriously by quite a lot of those involved.
It isn’t just a big show off. There is a serious competition here, split into several categories in a rally that the owners of these cars are very keen to win. When we discovered this video from our old friend 19Bozzy92 we thought it would be a great showcase of this more straight-laced part of the event.
And then we hit the two-minute mark when, after a Subaru Legacy, out of the dust came… a full rally-spec C3 Corvette. Yes, a relic from 1970s America, a car with a big V8 that produced basically no power thanks to the fuel crisis, has been transformed into a stage muncher.
It’s only a brief shot at that stage, so if you don’t want to see more of the awesome rally action, jump forward to four minutes in and you’ll find the same car, this time showing off on the tarmac stages. It’s sandwhiched between a factory Hyundai WRC car and an Audi S1 WRX machine.
Does it make us want to go to Rally Legend a lot more than those slightly monotonous videos of flares and industrial estates? You bet it does.
