When we think of Jaguar XJR sportscars, we think of the incredible Silk Cut machinery that was a staple of the Group C World Sports Car era – headed by mighty the XJR-12 that won 1990’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. We don’t necessarily look stateside to IMSA GTP, which is where the incredible XJR-7 featured in the video below raced exclusively.
Just look at it. You might not know it like you know the Silk Cuts, but it has all the hallmarks of mid-to-late ‘80s Jaguar XJR sportscar glory: A low-slung yet curvaceous and elegant nose, broad hips and little but tyre and fire-spitting exhaust at the rear. It wears its simple green and white livery beautifully. Watch, in the video above, as owner Howard Turner takes us through this stunning machine at the 40th running of The Mitty at Road Atlanta.
