The Peugeot 905 Evo. The zenith of Group C, the machine that burned the brightest as sportscar racing went big and then went home. It's a screaming, high-revving monster and we cannot help but love it.
Annoyingly for those who own them, and sadly for those of us who love seeing them, the 905s that exist in historic racing seem to spend most of their lives sat in the pit lane waiting for a service rather than actually on track. Fitted with a highly-strung, F1-derived 3.5-litre V10, it should be no real surprise that things can, and do, go wrong.
So when we find one on track, working, and with someone who has been willing to stick a GoPro alongside them, we have to pay attention. At the wheel is six-time Le Mans racer Erik Maris, and he's giving this aero monster a workout as it powers down the Kemmel straight.
Sadly, the car didn't really run much during the racing weekend, but to see it out a few times, and have this onboard momento, makes it pretty much worthwhile.
