Have you ever noticed that some of your content is region locked? Don’t worry, this isn’t another ad for a VPN. Just a question. Indeed, most videos on YouTube with titles in Japanese aren’t going to be offered up by the platform to many of us in the west, unless we have very specific algorithms. Well, we’re here today to help with that. If old Japanese boxes drifting around Tsukuba is your thing, boy have we got the video for you today.
We find ourselves mounted atop the windscreen of what we can only assume is a Toyota Corolla AE86, by the squareness of the hood, the distinctive vent and the distinctive throb of the 4A-GE carbureted four-cylinder twin-cam engine. Oh, and the fact that everything else on track is also an 86.
Still, Initial D had something right, in that there aren’t many cars that can pitch themselves into and hold a slide quite so balletically as the dainty little ‘Rolla. Speaking of Initial D, the car this car is chasing looks very… Takumi. We wonder if it’s stocked up with tofu. So enjoy almost two minutes of slippery fun at Tsukuba and then, time permitting, let the next video roll, and you’ll be well on your way to your feed being penetrated by Japanese Tsukuba videos. You’re welcome.
